School Closure Update

Good afternoon Rockford families,

We hope you are doing well.  Yesterday it was announced that the Shelter in Place would remain in effect through April 30 and students will not be returning to school on April 14.  This means that we will be collecting the current work and distributing new packets on Tuesday, April 14. We will use the same process as before, and staff will be in the same locations. More information regarding this will be sent out as the time gets closer.

Rockford will remain closed until further notice.  The following criteria will be used to determine when Rockford is to reopen for student attendance:

1.The California State Shelter in Place order has been lifted.

2.The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tulare County has remained constant for a two-week period or declined.

3. The directive to Social Distance has been removed by the state of California.

4. The limit placed on social gatherings has been removed by the state of California.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in these difficult times. We are sorry if we are unable to provide you answers to many of your questions. This is something new that school districts have never faced, and we must wait for guidance from the federal and state departments of education. This is also new to them, and all departments are trying to do what is best for our students.

Please continue to feel free to contact the school office or your student’s teacher(s) if you have any questions.  We will answer them to the best of our ability based on the ever-changing information that we receive.

We miss having your children at school and hope we will return prior to the end of the school year.  Please be safe and take care!
