Rockford School District – December Newsletter

From the Superintendent/Principal

The following monthly newsletter is provided with the intent of giving you information regarding activities important to our school.

Parent Club

All parents are encouraged to join the monthly Parent Club meetings which are the first Wednesday of each month beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Band News

Marching season is coming to a close following the Porterville Christmas parade on Thursday, November 30th and the PDC parade on Tuesday, December 5th.  The band will be playing at the school Christmas Program on Thursday, December 14th at 10:00 a.m. The band has done an excellent job this year and we are very proud of them.

Lost and Found

With the cold mornings and warmer afternoons that we can experience this time of year, it’s not unusual to have a lot of coats and sweaters left out on the playgrounds. Articles of clothing that are found are placed on the “lost and found” rack. Smaller items such as wallets, jewelry, eyeglasses, etc., are kept in the school office.  Don’t hesitate to have your student check out the lost and found rack or come to the office to see if an item belongs to someone in your family.  Unclaimed articles will be donated to a charitable organization during winter break.

Before and After School Drop-Off & Pick-Up

All students are to be dropped off and picked up on the north side of the campus only. Students will only be released in this area. If you park in the west lot, please walk into the fenced area to pick up your student(s).  The west parking lot is not a drive through lane. You will need to park and walk your student to the gated area.

Christmas Program

The school Christmas programs are scheduled to take place in the cafeteria on Thursday, December 14th.  The K-3rd grade program will begin at 8:45 a.m.  The 4th& 5th grade students will perform at 9:30 a.m. The 4th – 8th grade band performances will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Vacation Days

Rockford will have early dismissal on Tuesday, December 19th at 1:45. We will be on vacation from December 20th through January 5th.  School will resume on Monday, January 8th. We hope you enjoy the time off.
