November Newsletter – 2017

 The following monthly newsletter is provided with the intent of giving you information regarding activities important to our school. Thank you to all of the parents and students who joined us for Family Science Night with Science Dipity on Thursday, October 19th. We hope you enjoyed the evening!

Red Ribbon Week Winners

Band News

Congratulations to the Rockford band for their performance at the Fowler Band Review on Saturday, October 21st. The band will be marching in the Veterans Day Parade. They will also be participating in the Porterville Developmental Center and Porterville Christmas parades.

Parent Club

All parents are encouraged to join the monthly Parent Club meetings which are the first Wednesday of each month beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Thank you to all of the parents who helped with the tournament and Halloween Carnival.


The football and volleyball season ended with Rockford’s football team placing 4th in the tournament and the volleyball team placing 2nd. Congratulations to the athletes and coaches for a great season.  Thank you to our coaches.  We will begin the soccer season now.  There will only be “A” girls and boys soccer teams.  The soccer tournament will be at Columbine on Friday, December 1st.


The 7th & 8th grade CJSF students participated in a field trip to the Reagan Library on Wednesday, October 18th.  This was a great experience for the students and staff.  The group was able to walk through the former Air Force One, see a replica of the Oval Office, part of the Berlin Wall, a piece of the World Trade Center, the Titanic exhibit and many other exhibits about American history.  Thank you to the teachers who chaperoned the trip and to the students who worked hard academically to earn the field trip.

There will be no school on Friday, November 10th in Honor of Veterans’ Day.  We will have early dismissal on Friday, November 17th at 1:45 and no school November 20th – 24th for the Thanksgiving holiday.
